Businessman murdered

HYDERABAD: A 36-year-old businessman was murdered at his house in Uppal. Rajiv Kumar of Hema Nagar in Boduppal was into second-hand vehicle sales.

According to police, Rajiv had a dispute with his business partner, Sajjad, a few months ago and moved from Hyderabad to Goa, where he had a similar business.

HYDERABAD: With three more deaths on Tuesday, the state’s swine flu toll has gone up to 16. Madan Mohan, a Home Guard from Kurnool, died of H1N1 flu at the Global Hospital in L B Nagar. Rajitha, A 25-year-old housewife from Medak district died at Gandhi Hospital on Tuesday evening.

No fanfare for Ganesh nimajjan as city mourns

HYDERABAD: Ganesh immersion on Thursday was sans festivities as devotees mourned the death of chief minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy. Microphones were turned off, and the mandatory band, drums and dancing of nimajjan were replaced by Bhagawad Gita shlokas that pandals played through the day.
