Opposition's fuel hike offensive in Parliament

E-mail Print PDF

There was uproar in both Houses of Parliament on Wednesday as the BJP and its allies take the government to task over the fuel price hike.

The Opposition, led by the BJP, launched an all out offensive against the government's decision to hike fuel prices.

There was uproar in both Houses the moment the session began and the Speakers adjourned the Houses till noon.

Top leaders of the BJP and its allies finalised their protest strategy with their MPs this morning,
just before Parliament met.

They have decided to work towards building opposition unity on the issue. They will meet Left and other leaders too.

Sources say the BJP's strategy would be to disrupt proceedings till lunch and then use the discussion on the Presidential address to corner the government.

The BJP has called the PM's refusal to roll back the hike as adding salt to the wound.
