45 injured as bus falls into gorge

Muzaffarnagar, Feb 19 At least 45 people of a marriage party were injured, some of them critically, when the bus in which they were travelling fell into a gorge on the Panipat-Khatima highway near Dewal village in the district, police said today.

Annual pilgrimage to Chardham ends tomorrow

Dehradun, Nov 16  The annual pilgrimage to Chardham comprising Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri and Yamunotri, ends tomorrow with the closure of the portals of the Badrinath shrine.

"The portals of Badrinath temple will be closed tomorrow at 1540 hrs amid chanting of vedic rituals," Chairman Chardham Development Council Suratram Nautiyal said.

Two more medical college in the offing in Uttarakhand

Dehradun, Nov 12  After setting up its first medical college in the state last year, Uttarakhand government is now contemplating building two more such institutions at a cost of Rs 400 crores.

Under the proposal, a medical college will be set up in the capital city of Dehradun and the other in the hill resort of Almora in Kumaon region, Chief Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank said.
